Substractive…

Preparations

Prepare stock solutions as described below:

Part A

Water, 300 ml
Potassium Ferricyanide, 37.5 gr
Water, to make 500 ml

Part B

Water, 1000ml
Sodiumthiosulphate, 480 gr
Water, to make 2000 ml

Finally, prepare working solution as specified below:

Working solution

Water, 850ml
Part A, 30 ml
Part B, 120 ml

Instructions for use

  1. Soak the film in water.
  2. Put the wet film in a tray of working solution, agitate carefully.
  3. Inspect and remove film from tray as soon as density is sufficiently dense, or slightly before.
  4. Apply a quick rinse in water to abort further bleaching.
  5. Inspect and repeat if needed.

For prints

Mix 10-14 parts of water with 1 part of A and 1 part of B.

Notes

\formulasectioninstructions Usage: Immerse a wet negative in Part A for 1-4 mins, agitating gently. Watch the action carefully and remove the negative as soon as the desired density is achieved. Then immerse in Part B for 5 mins, remove and wash thoroughly. Notes: This process may be repeated as required. For general fogging, dilute Part A with 50\% water. Both solutions have a long shelf life and can be stored for future use. \end{formula}
